By creating an account or using Fieldnotes, you agree to these Terms of Service. If you do not agree, do not use the service. These terms apply to all users including free tier and Pro subscribers.
Fieldnotes is a knowledge platform that synthesises academic research papers into structured, audio-first knowledge experiences ("Fieldnotes"). We use third-party APIs to discover, synthesise, and produce audio content. We do not guarantee the accuracy, completeness, or fitness for purpose of any generated content.
You are responsible for maintaining the security of your account credentials. You must not share your account with others. You must provide accurate registration information. We reserve the right to suspend accounts that violate these terms.
You may not use Fieldnotes for: illegal purposes; systematic scraping or bulk download of content; misrepresentation of generated content as original research; or any use that would infringe third-party intellectual property rights. Fieldnote content is for personal and professional use only — not for resale or redistribution without permission.
The Fieldnotes platform, brand, and interface are owned by Fieldnotes and protected by intellectual property law. Generated Fieldnote content is licensed to you for personal use. Source papers remain subject to their respective publishers' terms. We do not claim ownership of academic works we reference.
Pro subscriptions are billed monthly via Stripe. Subscriptions auto-renew unless cancelled before the renewal date. Cancellations take effect at the end of the current billing period. We do not offer refunds for partial months except where required by law.
Fieldnotes is provided "as is". We make no warranties about the accuracy of generated content. To the fullest extent permitted by law, we are not liable for decisions made based on Fieldnote content. Our total liability to you shall not exceed the amount you paid us in the 12 months preceding a claim.
We may update these terms at any time. We will notify you of material changes by email with 14 days' notice. Continued use after the effective date constitutes acceptance.
