Common questions

What counts as a Fieldnote generation?

Each time you enter a topic and we build you a complete knowledge experience — audio, debate map, and sources — that counts as one generation. Viewing or re-listening to existing Fieldnotes does not count.

What is the difference between Pro and Team?

Pro is a single-seat plan with unlimited individual access. Team adds a shared Research Notebook for up to 5 seats — ideal for small research teams, consulting groups, or editorial teams who want to work from the same evidence base.

Can I cancel my subscription at any time?

Yes. Cancellations take effect at the end of your current billing period. You retain full access until then.

How does institutional pricing work?

Institutional pricing is custom and starts from $15/seat for 10 or more seats. It includes branded publishing, admin controls, dedicated onboarding, and priority support. Contact us and we will put together a proposal.

Do you store my payment information?

No. Payments are processed by Stripe. Fieldnotes never stores card data on our servers.

What research sources do you use?

We search Semantic Scholar and OpenAlex — together covering 200M+ open academic papers. We prioritise open-access papers and provide abstracts at minimum for all cited sources.
